Mother/Daughter co-founders Meg Cooper and Peggy Bustamante have always had a natural talent for building community. In today's fast-paced world with demands that never seem to stop growing, community is an afterthought for many hard-working individuals.
Meg and Peggy saw that many parents were being forced to choose between pursuing a career or raising a family. In addition, the growing popularity of working from home has left many feeling lonely and actually less productive than in an office environment. Gather Cincy seeks to bridge the gap between working, raising a child, and still having community with others in the same stage of life, who can benefit from each other's gifts, talents, and businesses.
Meg has worked remotely as a consultant her entire career, and as she and her husband began planning for a family, realized that there were no good, flexible childcare options in Cincinnati. Pregnant with her first child (Baby Boy Cooper due in September!), Meg seeks to build community for work from home parents and a space where children can play and learn with their parents close by.
Meg is passionate about serving the Cincinnati community and is actively involved in the Junior League of Cincinnati, serving as Chair of Membership Engagement and Spring Fundraisers; the Cincinnati Parks Foundation Hats Off Luncheon, serving as Chair of the Young Professionals & Acquisition Parties committees; is a graduate of the Cincinnati Chamber’s leadership program C-Change, Class 12; and is Registration Lead for the Girls on the Run Cincinnati 5k races.
Meg and her husband, Grant, live in Mariemont with their french bulldog, Daphne Pickles (who you may see around Gather from time to time). Meg is the Director of Community at Gather Cincy, responsible for delighting members and planning great events.
Peggy Bustamante has been in sales and business management for her entire career. She has sold various commodities, from pharmaceuticals for a global distributor to jewelry for a local manufacturer, covering 20 states along the west coast and southwest. Peggy is also a licensed Realtor, practicing real estate for over ten years.
Peggy has always been active in the community. While the kids were in school, she volunteered in the classrooms and spend seven years volunteering with the PTSA and After Prom fund raising. Now that the kids are grown, she volunteers at the Cincinnati Observatory, Girls on the Run and Crossroads Church. She loves to travel and stay active by hiking, bicycling and practicing yoga.
Peggy is the Director of Operations at Gather Cincy, developing and implementing the day to day operations of the business and lives in East Walnut Hills.
