Each week we share 5 great things that are making our lives easier, better or just more fun!
- Spindrift - I’m trying to drink less pop (and wine) so delicious alternatives have been on my radar. I love a good La Croix, but Spindrift has way more flavor when I’m looking to not drink one of the above. My favorite is the Raspberry Lime!
- Essentialism - This month I’ve been trying (not doing an awesome job) of reading 30 minutes each day. I started this book…on maternity leave…and was LOVING it then. And then baby and work and life happened and I’m just now picking it back again now. The basic premises is there are things that YOU are essential to do and this book helps you with “discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution towards the things that really matter.” I’m all about this at this time in my life.
- Felt Flap Books - Teddy has been obsessed with flap books, and I just don’t know why they make the flaps so darn flimsy. My 10 month old has a grip stronger than me and inevitably quickly rips off the flap. I found these great felt flap books at Joseph Beth and a) they seem to be way better attached than other books and b) for some reason he seems to be a lot more gentle with the felt than paper flaps. Highly recommend.
- Apple Watch - Ok, I know this isn’t something ground breaking, but I LOVE my Apple Watch. I accidentally got on a streak of closing my rings. If you’re around me any decent amount of time, I’m sure you’ve heard me use that term. (Here’s a little thing about closing your rings from Apple) But everyday you should be standing for 1 minute for 12 hours, exercising for 30 minutes, and burning a set number of “active” calories that you can set the goal for yourself. It’s kept me SUPER motivated, and on days that I’m not as active as normal I’ve been known to walk up and down our stairs for 15 minutes to close the rings before bed…
- Netflix RomComs - I don’t know about you, but at the end of the day or on the weekend I usually just want to watch something lighthearted. 90% of what’s on now are intense dramas or murder documentaries, and we usually find ourselves flipping the Office back on. Netflix has been periodically popping out these really great, silly RomComs and even Grant doesn’t mind watching one on a Friday night. In particular, Always Be My Maybe was hilarious! Check them out!
